Travelling to Boracay

Where is Boracay and how do I get there?

Boracay is a small tropical island in the Philippines, famous for its powdery white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant tourism scene. Located about 315 km south of Manila, it is widely considered one of the country's premier beach destinations.

❋ Step 1: Flying to the Philippines

Book a flight to either:

  • Manila (MNL) – Recommended. Commonly known as NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport)

    • Note that the different airlines operate at different terminals.

    • Give yourself ample time when connecting between different airlines and terminals. Transferring terminals may require you to drive through Manila’s crowded streets.

    • You can choose to stay in Manila overnight before heading out to Caticlan. We recommend choosing hotels near the airport.

  • Cebu (CEB) – Another option with domestic connections

❋ Step 2: Flying to Caticlan

From Manila or Cebu, book a domestic flight to Caticlan Airport, sometimes known as Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH). This is the closest airport to Boracay and is the most convenient option. The flight usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.

The local airlines here in the Philippines are:

  • Philippine Airlines* - national carrier

  • Cebu Pacific - biggest Low Lost Carrier (LCC) in the country

  • Philippines Air Asia - LCC

  • Royal Air - LCC

*This is the available airline for non-rev/standby passengers.

❋ Step 3: Caticlan Airport to Boracay

Upon arrival at Caticlan Airport, you can choose from two transfer options to your hotel, with the entire journey typically taking about 45–60 minutes.

Option A:

  1. You can pre-purchase airport transfer services via Klook.
You may be required to pay terminal/environmental fees separately (collected once).

Option B:

  1. Take a short tricycle or shuttle ride to the Caticlan Jetty Port. [₱50-150]

  2. Purchase your ferry ticket and any associated visitor fees.

    • Environmental Fee for Locals [₱150] - Collected once

    • Environmental Fee for Foreigners [₱300] - Collected once

    • Port / Terminal Fee [₱150] - Collected each way

    • Ferry Ticket [₱50 One Way]

  3. Enjoy a quick 10–15 minute ferry ride to Boracay Island.

  4. From the Boracay port, take a tricycle (electric-tricycle) to your hotel. [₱200]

Note: The Lind will be providing complimentary airport transfer services to guests who book directly from their website. Guests staying in Astoria can book transfer services for an additional fee.

What else can I do in the island?

Beyond the wedding festivities, Boracay offers beautiful beaches, island hopping, snorkeling, parasailing, sunset sailing, delicious dining, and plenty of opportunities to relax and explore.

We highly recommend planning your activities and booking online through Klook or other reputable providers. Booking ahead not only helps secure your spot but also gives you a good reference for typical pricing and available options.

While you'll find many vendors offering tours and activities throughout Boracay, prices can vary and may sometimes be different than the usual rates.

Any other traveling tips?
  • Pack for the tropical weather – Expect temperatures between 28–32°C (82–90°F). Bring light, breathable clothing, comfortable sandals, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, and your swimsuit.

  • Getting around – E-trikes [₱200] are the island's primary transportation and are readily available. Walking along White Beach is also a great way to explore.

  • Plan your activities early – Popular activities include island hopping, parasailing, snorkeling, paddleboarding, sunset sailing, and spa treatments. We recommend booking online in advance whenever possible.

  • Carry some cash – While many hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, smaller shops, transportation, and beach vendors often accept cash only.

  • Stay hydrated – The tropical heat can be intense, so keep a reusable water bottle with you and drink plenty of fluids.

  • Protect yourself from the sun – Apply sunscreen regularly and wear sunglasses and a hat, especially during the hottest part of the day.
